I have some screed to be laid from middle of the room to the back door. The guy whos doing the screed for me said we could put a gentle slope to the back door if we need to, probably about 5-10mm. (due to a low hanging back door).

Would this create any problems when laying some 8mm tiles?

how much clearence do you have under the door now you will need about 15mm-18mm

why cant you just level at the height required for the back door!!

About 50mm under the door to be able it to open inwards. Screed needs to be 50mm and i have to allow for tiles and adhesive to be put down. I am going to try and raise the door on its hinges but i may not have enough to play with.

Where the old part of the kitchen is, with me removing the old floorboards and putting down some 18mm chipboard this levels the floor a little. This level is 50mm.

So if its too tight at the door end can it be sloped so tiles will adhere to it???

its not a low hanging back door as such you cant realy move the door up as you will reduce remove the overlap to keep the weather out
you could install rising butt hinges they will give you around 10mm clearence with the door open a few inches
you could chamfer the bottom off the door about 3 degrees and add a wedge to the frame the same to stop the gap looking to big

you would also have to remove a slope from the hinge side inside edge of the top off the door

definatly think the lowerd screed is the best option with the rising butt/move the door up 5mm as a back up plan when the door dosnt properly clear the tiles

its upvc, will i get the clearnace. If i need to take any off the bottom i will have to remove the door as i won't have clearance.

Also this will have to be fully removed. Hinges unscrewed as i have lost the ability to lift it off hinges now due to adding plasterboard to the top reveal.

you cant realy trim a platic door as the seals are are within a mm or 2 off the edge
definatly a taper floor job but just remember the slope will have to finnish before the point the door is fully open or roughly 28" away from the door opening
