Fitting mosaic tiles for the first time, help needed please.

Post by Curlyworld »

Hello

I am about to try and fit some mosaic tiles above a worktop. Above this worktop are three double electric sockets to work around. It looks like a bit of a nightmare as I will have to cut tiles to get around the sockets. Anyone got any advice as to the best way of achieving this?

Many thanks

Mosaics can be a real pain in the arse.

You can cut them with a diamond wheel cutter

or you can just nibble away at them with a pair of tile nibblers.

When it comes to mosaic, just get the full tiles in first, leave the cuts until all the full tiles/sheets have been fitted.

The walls not only need to be very flat, they need to be perfectly smooth too, in particular when using 20mm mosaic tiles.

4mm Mosaic trowel should be used
