Tiling courses/ retraining options advice

Hello all,
Stumbled across this forum whilst searching the internet for tiling courses and was impressed with the amount of information.
I was looking for some advice regarding retraining as a tiler, or some tiling courses people may of taken or have heard of that they could reccommend?
I`ve recently been made redundant, and the redundancy package included money for retraining and tiling was an option that interested me, as I have been looking to go self employed in some capacity for a while now.
I`m a welder by trade (40 years old) and want a complete change from that background, and a change away from the factory.
I can imagine the professional tilers looking down on these "fast track" training courses, and as someone who took a full 5 year apprenticeship after leaving school I can understand why, but at 40 my options are limited.
So.......... any advice would be most appreciated.
Kind regards.
