Hi guys!

New member here.

I need some tiling on chipboard floor in a wet area. Different tilers have suggested different things - I'm mega confused!

Some say plywood before the tiles, others say nothing is required. Another one suggested thinset then hardibacker cement board before tiling.

Please suggest the best?

Thanks!

If its going to be a wet area you want the thinset and backerboard with a waterproof flexible adhesive and grout.

Thank you for your reply! Really appreciate it.

Can you recommend any *good* tilers in the Birmingham area?

When you say Wet area, is this gonna be subject to wet just from getting out of the Bath/Shower or an actual wet room scenario?
