laptop wont shut down

i reset my laptop last night because i had removed a old printer of the program files, its stayed on the 'logging off' screen all night, it went into system recover this morning but that went striaght back to the logging of screen.
any ideas its a fujitsu amilo model
its the misses laptop and she'll start doing my head in soon

Press ctrl, alt, delete, together, then shut down from the dropdown box.

just hold down the power down for 3 seconds or more and it will force a shutdown,
then restart

Usually it's a program creating this problems.
As a general rule uninstall all the software you don't really need/use (if any)
As a final solution try a registry cleaner utility it "may" help.

The '5' second holding of the on/off button should do it. When you restart the laptop hopefully there will not be any errors but if there are just post them here.
Be carefull when removing programs and cleaning the registy as you can seriously screw-up the pc. Its worth taking a backup of your important files before you start this.
