Hi and hello I am new and thought I would start post ...
I have been looking around the net for a new router table ..but the only ones I like cost a fortune (which I cannot afford due to being disabled) so I decided to make one as I have loads of time on my hands at the moment

Does it need any cross bracing to stop it falling over.

Collapsing may have been a better word, if you put force on the top side edges.

It would hold the weight of 4 men no probs its all mortised & tenon jointed ..plus it also got 4x coach bolts going from the cross members of the legs right through the top....what do you think will be going on it a elephant LOL :help:

I'm not talking about the weight on the top.

If i gave it a good shove on the top just above that switch the joints would move and probably give way, because there's no cross members in the legs to stop it.

Take my word for it..it wont under normal circumstances....take a look at a few on the net and you will find that most dont have any supports at all Pal

I am not getting shirty LOL...Take a look at the imiges on google of some router tables and you will see the leg asembley on mine is much stronger than shop made ones ...Theres just no need for overly strong legs on a router table

Nice work :thumbright:

It looks much better than the bought ones as many of them are only about 12 inches high, which means you have to put the router table on top of another table to get the height.

It looks like a sturdy piece of work!

Well done, and welcome to the forum :thumbright:

Thanks....I looked all over for one at a reasonable price and could not fing anything under £200 that I liked ..so I decided to go ahead and make my own when I was give some 18mm Resin Coated Plywood...I must admit I still fancy the fox ones :-)

I have not seen the fox ones.

I got a free Ryobi one when I bought my Router, but I have not had time to use either yet

I have had the bloomin things about three years

It came in handy for my mate though, when he built some stairs with it
