Hi. I have a bathroom to paint. One of the walls into a shower cubicle is tiled ( grey tiles, grey grout ) the lady would like the grout in the shower re done as it is dirty, and a different colour now to the rest.
Can I just scrape the old off and use a grey grout to redo or am I better off cleaning it or.... other?
Thanks

Raking out grout is a horrible job! I would attempt to clean it first, depending on how dirty it is.

If you have to rake it out and replace, then just be very careful not damage any edges of the tiles.

re-grouting can be made easier with the Bosch all rounder. If you have to use a hand powered rake it makes the job much harder. As Opus Romano says, be careful not to damage the tiles.

A nice piece of kit there, I have a Fein and still refuse to do re-grouting jobs. More trouble than they are worth IMO.

The Fein is supposed to be the better machine, but it is also the dearer machine as well.

Re-grouting is one of those jobs like wall paper stripping- I do it if I can't get someone else to do it for me

if grout isnt cracked/falling out, then it just needs cleaned properly most of the time
