Hi, I am tiling a utility roomwith that has a P5 chipboard floor on top of old ceramic tiles, so its flat and non-flexing. I need to raise the floor by approx another 15mm + tile thickness to be level with the kitchen.
I plan to use Aquapanel cement board laid directly on top of the chipboard and then use a flexible tile adhesive, however I've just laid a board down (without screws) and walked on it and it made noises like it was cracking inside.
Have I bought the wrong product, or will it be ok when screwed down? Should I lay a thin layer of flex adhesive onto the chipboard before I bed the cement board down?
Advice welcomed.
can I use Aquapanel cement board on the floor?
