Set up my old computer for the kids to play games.
Attached the computer to the 19" LCD. No problems with picture, however no sound. There is Audio outputs at the back of the television but none at the back of the computer.
The computer came with speakers that you attached to the back of Modem
The wife through the speakers out.
Any ideas how I can get sound.

If your YTV has the red and white audio connectors, one of
these should do.

Excuse my ignorance but how would they join the Tv to the modem
I have tried to show you a picture of the back of the modem. No success
Where the speakers went in the modem are two inputs one for each speaker. There is no other audio on the modem.

The audio outputs on the TV are no good for what you want as they are not INputs.
What type of cable have you used to connect from the Computer to the TV, and what is the input socket on the TV labelled as.
Does the TV have any Audio/Phono input sockets, and does the computer have a socket for headphones. If the answers to the last two questions is YES then this should do the trick:

The TV has Audio inputs which are red and white in colour. The computer modem doesn't have an earphone socket.

Can you take a picture of the speaker connector on the modem?

What make and model of computer is it?
The VGA cable you used is basically for monitors that is why you are not getting any audio signal to the TV.

Just discovered an earphone jack on the front of the modem
On my way out to tesco to see if I can purchase the lead that you recommended.
I will let you know how I get on. Cheers

Right guys. Purchased the cable. Tried it in the earphone jack. It didn't work.
I then tried it in one of the speaker inputs at the back of the modem which is of a Pink colour. Haven't got a clue why the two of them are pink and green.
IT WORKED
Thanks for the advice guys.

Set up my old computer for the kids to play games.
It was worth the trouble to keep them quiet!
Glad it worked even if it was not exactly as I would have expected it to.
