It's a thing of beauty.

I’m thinking it may be worth going direct and bring it in from the States.

Have you guys got any concerns about it, like drawbacks from it being a fixed with plunge attachment (I thought that was quite clever)?

I'm after a router to do both work tops and shaping trimming of wood, might even go as far as Dove Tails am I right that it's better to have a 1/2" collet for worktops?

Need a gate once the extensions done and the example dirtydeeds posted has inspired me.

Nice bit of kit, but if its only 1/4" collet max then its gonna be pretty limited to what you can do with it! You definately need a 1/2" collet for cutting worktop mitres etc. Plus if you get a 1/2" collet router, you usually get a 1/4" collet for it also.

I'd buy this router if youre gonna be doing lots of edging and detail work, but for meatier cutting like worktops and dovetailing i'd get a 1/2"

It seems from the spec that it takes both 1/4 and 1/2 inch collets.

I have a fixed base router that lives mostly in my router table. I think that it is an advantage to have both the plunge and the fixed base as an attachment.

You really need the electrics to conform to UK supplies.

I think id sooner have the two machines.
Have both setup for different tasks, without having to change cutters/heights all the time.

M12V For doing heavy rebates, trimming large round overs etc, and a Trend T5 for smaller bits and pieces.


Out of interest, how do you adjust the cutter height on the fixed one, does it have a fine adjuster?

If its both collets, then its spot on. Looks like a very nice bit of kit!!!!
