You know when you get loads of junk mail through the door with an envelope inside addressed to the people who sent the letter.

That envelope postage has already been paid for, all you do is cross out there address or use a sticky label to cover the address then you can use it to post anything you like, save on stamps.

It might seem a bit tight but I get some satisfaction out of knowing the junk mail was useful after all.

Good tip, as long as you make sure you also cross out the bit that says "if undelivered return to...." or heaven knows where your letters might end up!

IF the Royal Mail are on the ball, you shouldn't be able to get away with this one.

They are supposed to treat any BRE (Business Reply Envelope) which has had it's pre-printed address altered as if it's a letter which has been posted with no stamp on it, and not charge the postage back to the BRE account holder. This'd result in your letters' recipient getting charged the missing postage plus a collection fee.

If it's worked in the past fine, but I wouldn't rely on it always working.

I just seal up all the BRE's that come through my door with junk mail and pop them in the post empty. That way the junk mail company get charged for the envelope being used. If everyone did this it'd completely wipe out their profit margins from the few people who buy anything from them, and maybe they'd go bust and stop sending me the stuff!

I also do that.

There is one particular firm that is based in America and they prey on people with websites and they send you a letter that reads like you have to renew your domain name with them for £20 per year than any other registrar

The b*stards have got wise though and have opened a branch in the UK, so they get all my leaflets now

When they ordered the kebabs, they were probably cold by the time the lad got them all the way over the pond, so decided to open office nearer to get them delivered hot.

Try writing "Not at this address - return to sender", and stuffing it back in the post box. Had to do this for the previous trennants in our house, and never seem to get the same spam mail twice, and it dried up after about 6 weeks.

Only just realised I could do it with spam mail addressed to myself!

We used to collect lots of mail and leaflets and BOOKS, old catalogues from suppliers and send them in a Huge Jiffy Bag (a recycled one) just tape the envelope to the bag.

Works really well and there is a modicum of satisfaction. It was also cheaper than having to pay business rubbish collection fees!
