Glass Splashbacks / Worktops

Hey all,
has anyone had any experience with Glass Splashbacks or Glass Worktops as i am considering these for my kitchen. i would prefer to measure up and fit myself to keep the costs low (being almost xmas and all!). any tips for either of these would be much appreciated
