thanks trainer it cam with a fibre metal disctrainer wrote: I think you can get metal cutting ones as well now, if you can these will be ideal as abrasive disks are crap IMHO
would rather spend 3 times as much for somthing that last 5 times longer or 10 times as much for something that lasts 30 times longer

I agree with trainer
Diamond tipped disks are much safer and are more economical than abrasive disks, I have seen the metal cutting disks somewhere but from memory they were expensive.
don't miss thesae big all- http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro ... 4&id=72480
Bargain

I brought metal cutting discs for the 18v grinder, from ebay...
bear in mind you need to turn the collar over, otherwise it doesn't hold the blade tight enough.
With my new 9" one I brought two diamond tipped blades from ebay, and a pack off dewalt metal cutting ones from the tool shop I got it from.

I guess you have probably bought them by now BA, but for future reference...

Never used them though...i expect they are good.

Use these a lot.
You can get even thinner ones 0.8mm, but dont see them much. I think they try and keep them from the amateurs!
The two names to look out for are Rhodius and Kroneflex (Klingspor), you will struggle to find a better disc. A lot of them are designed for stainless, but happily cut most metals bar aluminium.
Dont be tempted by the cheaper ones like silverline, they are no where near as good and dont last half as long.
If you get problems gripping the disc, some machines you need to fit a small paper disc, generally get a handfull with a box of discs.
Also for thoose of you that use a 9", you can get thin discs for them too. About 1.8mm thick. Nice easy cutting.
