194mm tiles

Post by jg »

Hi all,
Don't know why I didn't think of asking here earlier :)
I'm currently in the middle of some updates to my bathroom.
The bathroom is currently tiled half way up, all the way round. I'm fitting a shower above the bath and need to tile the top half in this area. The bottom half looks fine and I believe it was only done a couple of years ago, This is why I'd prefer to keep it.

So, here's the problem. The tiles on the wall are 194mm wide. All of the tiles I've seen are 200mm wide. So my grout lines would not line up, and the error would increase more the further from the start position I got.

So, does anybody know where I can get 194mm wide tiles from? Colour is not so important as there is a border at the moment. Any kind of beighe/brown/black marble type would work.

I've half a spare tile under the bath, and it has the name ***** on the back.

I've actually bought some mosaic type tiles from B&Q as I thought if there are loads of joints, then lining them up is less critical for a good look. But now it looks like these are going to be a pain to cut. I just thought if I could get tiles the right size it would simplify the job.

Thanks
J

"*****" are Italian and they do vary in size considerably.

Check a couple of boxes and you may get lucky, depends how accommodating the tile shop is.
