kitchen wall unit lights

Post by Only-Me »

I can get to the cpu ok, so I have run a 1.5 T&E from there (not connected yet) to 2 cabinet lights, then onto the switch,(2 way........at present only running the ceiling light) then another 2 cabinet lights.

As below

Is that OK, and more importantly.......will it work?

Better wait for one of the sparks, I don't know what a CPU is

You don't mean CU (consumer unit) by any chance?

If so it should work, have you conected the wire to a 5 amps circuit breaker/fuse?

In a word if you have wired it all in twin and earth then NO it will not work.

If you think about it your feed will go from the fusebox or CPU?? to your lights and the switch, so the lights will have a permanent feed to them. Your switch will have live and neutral across it so when you turn it on will blow your fuse. You need to run a cable from the fusebox to your switch and then from your switch to your lights. The neutrals will go together in the back of the switch box in a connector block and the feed will go in common and the live out to the lights into l1 or l2 depending upon switch manafacturer. earths continuous all the way through.

If you need an more help get back to us

If it isnt broke dont bloody touch it until it bloody well is and if it is broke then make drawing of the connections before you remove the broken one and replace with a new one LoL
