OK, so I think I've bought the wrong stuff then.
I'm tiling the whole bathroom, would this stuff be ok to use on the walls that don't get wet? or is the moisture in the room enough to cause problems?
The one I've got is the No nonsense stuff. Trouble is I cant remember where I bought it and cannot find the receipt.

Why not use your adhesive and in the shower area use a tanking kit. The BAL WP1 is good but expensive. Check screw fix for Dunlop taking or something like that. You get the whole lot on one go and a tanking kit its well recommended in a shower area (if you have one)
Don't forget an under tile shower or bath seal. Homelux sell a couple of types. Good job

What's a tanking kit? I've never heard of that.
The shower is to go above the bath. I've put some of that homelux white strip thing around the edge of the bath already. I was just going the seal around it with some of that white silicon type stuff. Is that the right thing to do?

As long as you fit the homelux strip and it makes a good seal with your bath edge you will be fine ,if you already have the adhesive dont worry about it being non waterproof, thats only really required where tiles are submerged under water.
A tanking kit is used to protect your walls from the absorbtion of water but again isnt essential but is good practice , just ensure you use a grout to finish the job off that when dry is water proof.

Thanks for the replies and help.
I've been at it all day so only just got back on here.
After calling the BAL technical support for their take I went down to the local tile place and the guy explained tank kits and lots more about what stuff to use.
Coincidentally the guy at the tile place recommended the same stuff as the BAL guy.
In the end I've gone for BAL grip as the adhesive and (TBH) I cant remember which grout. It was BAL also and I'm sure had flex in the name. I also used the blue primer solution on the walls around the bath and where the shower will be and put some silicone under the homelux strips.
I'm not going to use the other tile adhesive I got. I'm sure I only bought it because it was cheap and I didn't know any better. So I'll put that down to experience if the receipt doesn't turn up.
Now I'm not being funny but tiling is nothing like I thought it would be. Absolutely knackering. I quite enjoy the actual placing the tiles, but lugging tiles and buckets of grout up two flights of stairs is too much like hard work. And the tile cutter. What a mess.
