The Bathroom is large, the tiles are very large, the walls are thermolite blocks and plastered, took the wall paper off and their is no paint on the plaster. some of the walls have cracks so chopped out to about 50mm each side of the cracks and replastered, i think their was some settlement and shrinkage when the extension bathroom was built 20 years ago which caused some off the thermolite to deflect and break the bond to the morter bed, no fresh signs off movement and no problems to the external brickwork.
Is it right to use Bal white star flexible adhesive?
Also do i prime the walls with PVA or any other product?
Im going to use a flexible grout probably a Bal water resistant grout.
Some expert advice please!!!!!
Sealing walls prior to tiling, Is it correct to do this?

Thanks for your interest Darren & Marc.
The tiles are 450x320 and underneath the finish they appear to be terracotta type material.
I am hoping you suggest a flexible adhesive just in case their is ever any slight movement of the walls.
In the corner of the bathroom I am fitting a 900mm Quadrant shower, can I use the same adhesive that you suggest and do I need a special waterproof primer/coat in this area?

2 coat plaster holds about 27kg per mter (if memory serves), so check on the side of the box for the weight! they sound like theyre ceramics so
Bal ctf or rapidset should be fine! prime the walls with Bal apd, if you want you can TANK the walls in area of the sower cubicle it wont hurt, but will add an extra cost. personally i use a membrane system not the PAINT ON types!
