Unfinished tile edge in a wetroom

Post by alanna »

Hi everyone

My wetroom has a slate tiled floor but the floor tiles at the door way don't have any kind of trim or finishing and the raw tile edge sits alongside the carpet in my hall.

Occasionally water leaks into the hall carpet when the shower has been on too strong.

Any advice on what type of lip/edge/finishing I can add to the edge of the floor tiling so it doesn't lead straight onto my hall carpet? Also creating a barrier to water which would otherwise spill over?

Many thanks!!

Get the tiler back as he has not finished the tiling in the correct position. It needs to be cut back and door bar fitted. You can't fit door bar where he has finished tiling as it will look pants.

r.o.c.. is correct, but you say this is a "wetroom".
if so your tile fixer has..@@@@@@ the floor tiling..

he should have a "fall" in..no water should be running outside the former area and running out into your hall.. :cussing:

get him back.

Don't think it is due to incorrect falls in the tiling. Post points to it only happening when shower is turned on too much which indicates a very poor layout, design, advice and overall installation.
