Using tiles again

Post by blakes »

After starting to tile it became apparent that the adhesive I was using was old and no good. As a result of this a few tiles didn't stick to the wall properly and came away. I was wondering if I could scrape the adhesive off and use them again? I managed to get it off some of them but some it has set to some of them. Can I use the ones I've scraped it from? Can I get the set adhesive off and use them too?

Thanks

Put them in a bucket of water for a day. The adhesive will soften and scrape off easily leaving them clean. It would be best to buy powdered adhesive and mix it up yourself as ready mix stuff is not great.

Top tip, thanks. I've just pulled some out of the bucket and scraped them off now. Piece of cake!

They've only been in for about 2 hours! Adhesive must have been pretty crap!

Where are you tiling?

Waterproof adhesive won't soak off.
