new tiles on uneven surface - a bit wobbly!

Post by edinburgh36 »

Hi All,

I recently had my kitchen floor tiled. The house is pretty old and hence some floors are quite uneven / sloping slightly.

There are a couple of the tiles that feel a bit loose when I walk on them, but so far everything looks OK. I.e grouting is not cracked or anything.

Is there anything I can do to stop these feeling loose/wobbly?

Thanks!

few ?..first..
did you employ someone to fix tiles,if so get them back to have a look.
now could be a number off things..
movement in the substrate..
is it a timber floor that has been overboarded with wbp ply or a backerboard.
concrtete floor, was it primed proir to fixing..(dust on floor so adhesive not bonding)
voids under the tiles..(not enough adhesive under tile)

Hi

It is a is it a timber floor that has been overboarded with wbp ply or a backerboard. I think!
I had someone put hardboard down on top of the floorboards a few months ago, they guy who then tiled said he was going to put some levelling stuff on as the wood they put down was not straight.
