New HD, have you got the install disk and also, is teh Windows key on the case or on the disk case?
If you have the disk but not the key, try to install Belarc on it and run it and print the report off. It will display all the details of all the programs installed.

I cannot tell you which way to go but I assume it has Vista on it, which was cr4p.
It would really need another GB of RAM to run Windows 7 efficiently, so you can work out what a HD will cost plus a stick of RAM and a new Win 7 Home Premium OEM version will cost.
1GB of RAM £26
200GB HD £59
Win 7 Home Premium £75
You could find them a little cheaper but you do the sums.
Is it worth spending on a two year old or get a new one.

As you have now got Windows 7, here are a few tips for it.
The Image Resizer for Windows 7 lets you resize the pictures that you want to post on UHM etc.
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5391/175 ... -articles/
http://www.maximumpc.com/article/featur ... vered_date
One of the tweaks I like is when you have a couple of pages open full screen and want to compare details in both, or want to use one for reference whilst typing information into the other.
Press the Windows key and the Left Arrow and the top page will slide across to the left half of the screen.
Then get the other page on top and press the Windows key and the Right Arrow to slide this page to the right hand half of the screen.
To bring them back to full screen just click on the Maximise button next to the red close botton at the top.

Good news is that we go live on friday with talk-talk???
Will also add this to my 'favourites' bar, so I can find it next time I need it..
