Kitchen cabinet door support post
I bought a flat pack kitchen, one of the units which is situated in one corner of the kitchen was supplied with a metal support post for the left hand door, reason being, it is a 120cm straight unit with a blank off where the right door should be, so that another unit running along the other wall can attach to it, now the other corner has a smaller unit which did not come with a door support post, I have to make one, I would prefer a similar metal post like the other cabinet, however the dealer does not supply them separately, does anyone know where I can buy something like this, failing that I know I will have to use a melamined wooden post, however, any other suggestions would be appreciated, even where I can buy a square melamined wooden post suitable for a kitchen cabinet door, thank you.

BnQ do a corner post for situations like this http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?a ... earch=true
You may have to hang the doors from the solid sides. Is this what you mean?

Hi Dewaltdisney
Yes that would do, but hanging the door from the solid side would not be an option, because access would be restricted even further to the inside of the unit as its only 800mm long and being used as a corner unit, if I cannot get hold of the more substantial metal post I guess I will have to use the post you suggested, thanks anyway.

Re: Kitchen cabinet door support post
Well you could make up a corner post yourself out of melamine faced chipboard, Contiboard or similar. You could calculate the maximum width needed and use corner joint blocks to make it up as these would be hidden behind. You may even be able to build on 'wings' to the corner post suggested earlier and this might be a good solution.
Come back if you need more info on making one up.
