Could anyone tell me how I can make a frame to allow me to tile my bath panel.I have purchased a knew bath, but the legs appear to be in the way. There is room for ply,bot the tiles would be proud of the bath.I was hoping I would be able to finish the tiles flush,or 5mil back.Any ideas ? Deb.

Depends, sometimes you can use just a ply panel and then tile onto it and simply slot into place then silicone around it.
Other times, you make a 2x1 frame that is not full height, then fix ply to it then tile.
Other option is to make frame onto back of ply but leaving clearance for legs, stand in position, tile and silicone around perimeter.
There are a few ways around the problem, as you can see. just depends which way fits best really and thats something i would normally decide depending on legs, sweep of bath side, and what measurements I had to play with
Tiles are better of finished under the lip of the bath rather than flush. Another option is to have panel proud of the side. That can look nice.

Thank's for for the advise.Basically if I was to put the ply against the legs,it would fit in the Chanel under the bath edge, leaving just 5mil for the tiles.Which is a shame,as It would leave them slightly proud of the bath.To collect water and grime like my previous panels. My last timber panel I had to drill a hole, and attack it with a jig saw,it had swollen that bad. Many thank's Deb.

In that case you need to cut a 'U' shape out of the ply, where the legs are, so that it fits further under the bath. You have to fiddle about with frame size to.

Imagine you have 15mm from front lip of bath - leg. 18mm ply will mean it will sit 3mm proud of the bath. So you cut a channel or 'U' shape out of the ply where it hits the leg. It then means you can move the ply inwards by another 18mm. Thus giving you your 15mm for tiling.
