To be honest I don't think it would've matter if it were Ikea doors or not, I've made a right mess up. Basically i've attempted to screw Ikea Tyda handles (http://www.ikea.com/nl/nl/catalog/products/70116931) to my Ikea wardrobe (4 doors), however I've done it nowhere near properly and one set of handles are at stupid angles. This was even after me having to drill another hole after my first attempt was at a diagonal (they are supposed to be attached vertically). I'm now left with handles that are at all sorts of angles, with some concealing previous drilling mistakes. The wardrobe doors are white vinyl - is there anyway I can fill these slightly to conceal my previous botches? Could anyone recommend any possible solution? I've thought about buying some thicker-based Ikea handles to try and properly conceal my previous mistakes.

Anything anyone can suggest (apart from banging the wardrobe doors on my head) to help remedy the situation, I'd really appreciate. Thanks

Depends on spacing etc and how much damage you have done to the material surrounding the holes.

If you can put a couple of pictures up I'm sure we can point you the right way.

Cheer up, there is always a way out of a cock up. My way around this would be to look for some way to add a thin square washer or shim in a way to make it look like part of the handle unit. You could use very thin aluminium sheet cut to size or use square stainless, nickel or black washers to cover up the wrong holes and allow you to re fix the handles properly aligned. The best way to fix handles is to spend a bit of time making up a drill guide jig. You can buy an acetate type layover guide at BnQ (I think) for a few quid which is quite useful.

and if that doesn't solve the problem...if anyone asks tell them it's "Bohemian" and supposed to be like that....

even a round stainless steel penny washer would do, and easily obtainable from screwfix,to give it a brushed look just get some fine wet and dry sand paper and abrade the surface lightly . you can use normal steel penny washers inside the wardrobes to cover the holes.

Thanks to everyone. I'll definitely take a bit more time and consideration when I have a crack at the solution. Now all I need to do is find out what the Dutch is for 'washer' (I'm living in Amsterdam). ;)

I am pretty sure that washer is a universal term , or might be called a shim SHould be able to get it from your local diy store .

Use a finger plate as a cover. If you drill the plate for the handles (easy, 'cos it's smaller than a whole door) you can use the plate as a template for the holes in the door.

Can you just not fill it, sand it down. the just paint it with a little touch up paint?

Unfortunately the pictures show that the cabinet doors have a resin gloss finish and any filling would stand out a mile.

Penny washer or cut out some squares from a finger plate so it looks like its meant to be like it.

Make a template for the correct holes so each one is the same.
