Mac book crashed

Hi all,
my mac book loads upto my desktop pic then the multicoloured loading circle comes on,
I don't have no task bar etc.
any ideas?

A grey screen with the loading circle, means it's loading OSX, as far as I know.

Do you get the docking bar at the bottom.

I switch on and get the grey apple screen, then it goes pail blue for a few mins then I get my desktop/background pic and the loading symbol. I'm not getting the dock bar, or anything, just my pic and I'm stuck there...

Right click where the docking station normally is and see whats in the drop down box.

Can you boot it from the disc.

ive re booted from the disk and lost all m pics
it needs a trip to apple shop

its working ok now but ive still to load snow leopard disk yet.

my 6,y and = key still dont work from spilling a little coffee, so it needs looking at anyway
