A giant dual-ringed public art installation is being unveiled on Teesside later.
The £2.7m Temenos structure has taken four months to piece together on the banks of the River Tees.
Thousands of metres of steel wire have been woven between the two steel rings to create the 164ft (50m) high and 360ft (110m) long sculpture.

They are certainly short of ways to spend money in the norh east.

You have to admit, it's an impressive background.

I notice that funding came from everywhere except the artists themselves..... bl**dy typical.

The country is going to the dogs financially and these 'artists' think it's ok to toss money around on superficial nonsense.

What a waste of money, it looks shite.

I know one or two that do sculptures, you have to have the riught audience, or you wont eat.

That may be true Hitch, but where do they get 2.7million from. To me the odd 700,000.00 quid would be a waste.

Looks to me like a giant double ended condom.

As a sculpture it's in the most stupid location possible. Are there no parks that far up north? If not, the money would better have been spent on a park.
