An intro from me and my new project

Post by W.olly »

Well just joined up so hello to all, this place is the dog danglys from what i have seen :thumbright: , as a lot on here i just cant help but do it my self, i live in radcliffe north mancy land. At the minute , well for the last near 2 yearsv i have had a cabin cruiser and not long ago launched after getting new windows fitted and done the main interior structure, that is an ongoing job which i liked to spend peacefull days on doing bits. Pics will follow at the end.
I got the after selling up my 4x4 off roading lark, aswell recently give up messign with cars altogether, infact this week i sold my compressor and plasma cutter, dont ask why i do these things and buy new ones later when i miss them LOL.

So at the minute i have my boat aswell as a new pond build with a conservatory that i have won on that auction site that we all love and hate, we are collecting it in a few week, got it at a good price so its worth the 500 mile round trip...i hope
I have bits to do still around the house like finish plastering the stairs and all up stairs rooms but i must prioritise noe mustnt i LOL

This is my boat from when i got it to now

And in the water, the interior is still a long way from finishing but there is the front cabin done with seating, just needs the rest doing.
Image

For the boat i made a stove for the long winter nights.

In that pic it was on a test run but know is waiting to be fitted which i hope will be done for this winter LOL

So my most recent job os the garden and pond plus conservatory, pond part dug as i need to do the footings done for the con`y first as will be getting the barrow boys in to do it in one go.

Image

The grey fence in the back ground has now been moved to extend the garden another 12 foot to make a lawn, i have planted 2 apple trees already to get them started.

Image

The shed on the right will be the fish house as soon as the rest is done, i plan to breed koi so will be building another pond behind the fish house.

So as you willguess i am a busy chap and more than likly be around for some help, i have a question on the footings for the pond/con`y but i will put that in the correct place later but for now that is me :-) and my hecktick life, not to mention the family

Take care folks

Amazing how much bigger the pond looks with the grassed banks and ornamental lock gates. decent size for the boat as well.

I wasn't sure if it wasn't the dog that dug the hole looking for its bone

That's what I like to see- someone who can dig using a spade :thumbleft:

It's amazing how much earth you can use with just a spade, I remember hiring a skip once and I was removing some earth for a garage base. I filled the skip in no time and had to get them to drop another one off!

Your not kidin, i thought i had room for the soil as the garden, well land as you cant call it a garden  is a lot bigger heyond the fence but it filled it and i have more to move of the pond and the foundation for the con`y, i didnt want to but i think i will need to get a skip in, most of the soil went to the levle the side garden but the clay i hope to use for the breeding on pond for the koi.

I saved about £140 doing it myself by not getting a mini digger in, a few mite say i did it the hard way but i saved the cash, most important thing i reckon, and whats the rush

Hi also the main man :thumbright:

Little bit of digging keeps you fit. Looks like you will be able to use the back door as a spring board.

Got the conservatory at the weekend and now its leveling the garden as there was a brick planter and steps i built a few year back, ripped them out last night and a bit more to do before i dig the fottings out...more darn digging, getting fed up with it a bit now but once i get stuck in and see it coming on i will be more excited.
It was easy to pull down the con`y so hope it goes up just as easy, although i am extendeing it by half a metre to the pond edge so i will be needing to fill the gap between the house and con`y roof with a frame of some sort.

Even splashed out on a concrete mixer, cant be doing with mixing all that cement by hand
