To open the Task manager press the CTRL + Shift + Esc keys together.
To view the Desktop whilst several windows are open, place the mouse over the small oblong button to the right of the clock in the Task bar.
To minimize all desktop windows at once, click this button.
To split the screen for such things as having a received email in one half and the compose email window in the other half:
Get the received email on top and hold down the Windows key and press the right (or left) arrow. This will place the window in one half of the desktop. Then get the Compose email window on top and repeat with the Widows key and use the left arrow to place the compose window alongside the other email.
This works with any two windows, Word, PDF, Spreadsheets etc, and any combination of them.
Also suitable for working on Pictures.
To revert back to full screen just click the Maximise button next to the Close button (top right).
