Post by Alice »

hello all thankyou for all previous help and time to answer, :hello2:

what i have now decided to do is to go for the hardiebackerboard, and fit the board as advised to do on the (wet areas), this will be from the bath to celing,
and for now while i save for the materials, just emulsion all areas white. So will the hardiebackerboard adhere ok to this ( I am hopeing to finish for christmas  )

I would fix the boards to the wall with flexible cement-based tile adhesive and add a few screws/plugs too. Dont paint the walls that are going to have backer board on. How is the wall constructed, plastered brick/block or timber studs and plasterboard?

thanks again! Rookery, the shower wall over the bath ,is plywood, and the rest is plasterboard that
was part removed to put more support in for my kitchen cupboards and to check out any electrics, as the house is quite old. The plasterboard part that was removed is ok to put back up, and what you have advised sounds good to me. thankyou! :-)

p/s im not good with the keyboard as you can see  aileenynwa
