Gab between floor tiles and wall tiles

Hi all,
There is a gap of say 5mm to 8mm give or take high between where the floor tiles meet the wall tiles in the bathroom.
The gap goes 3.5cm to 4cm back to the breeze block.
i'm guessing its the thickness of the dot and dab then plaster board, then tile adhesive then tile.
Problem is if i put some grout coloured silicon sealant down along the gap its just going to push into the gap.
So should i -
1 - Fill the gap with filler flush to the front with either pollyfiller or the large gap pollyfiller?
2 - Fill with tile grouting flush to the front?
3 - expanding foam?
4 - Fill with loads of silicone sealant?
5- Pack with paper\wood etc then seal?
And then use the grout coloured silicone sealant to finish off the job.
Not sure whats best?
Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

If it was me, I would just plonk a load of grout in there and smooth off with your sponge.

Personally I'd put a bit of skirting board over the gap..even a cut to size job...neater surely??

Thanks for the replies.
Was thinking about the grout way but didn't know if that would be good enough to stick the silicone to it or if it would crack un the gap and make it loose causing the silicone to move and crack?
Skirting board isn't going to look good as its tiled all over the wall and floor, would look odd with some wood along the bottom.
Thanks for the replies, any other ideas?

Grout and then next day you can silicone. Make sure the silicone forms a joint between tiles and floor, though, NOT floor to grout.

Just a bead of silicone.

Royaloakcarpentry - But won't the grout crack with general expanding\shrinkage? the floor tiles are laid on a chip board floor so there could be some movement there.
would filler be a good idea then finish with a bead of silicone?
Rookery - If i just use a bead of silicone when i run my finger along it it will just push into the gap as its 3.5 to 4cm deep?

You are correct in saying this is a movement joint so shouldnt be filled with a hard material such as grout. Ideally you want backing rod to partially fill the depth but I dont know of one as small as 5-8mm. Just apply the silicone and carefully smooth over with your wet finger, not pressing too hard, and wiping off the excess as you go.
Did you really tile directly onto chipboard?

Yep, used the proper adhesive and grout and its stuck the tiles down to the chipboard like glue.
just worried if i put a bead of silicon along the front it will crack or split as there isn't anything behind it to support it?

Silicone is the way forward 4ur scenario.
If ur worried about the size of the gap, just get some newspaper fold neatly & push down gap to reduce amount of silicone used (& limits wastage). Then you can fill with silicone & smooth over with wet finger (I use a spray of washing-up liquid mixed with water, then run my finger along or smooth with tool).
