Drilling acrylic

Post by ultimatehandyman »

Normally I use a blunt HSS metal drill bit for drilling acrylic, but today I could not be bothered getting them out of the van and so I tried the Bosch Multi-construction bits and they worked perfectly. You have to be careful when exiting the hole with a metal bit as you can easily chip the acrylic, but the Multi-construction bits went through no problems at all!

I'll certainly use them next time I need to drill any acrylic :thumbright:

I always thought it was 'proper' to drill from both sides to avoid chipping acrylic :dunno:
Don't take it personally......

No, you don't have to.

You can normally go straight through from one side as long as you are not forcing the drill.
