I'm refurbing a house that I'll be moving into and want peoples opinions. I have three different space off a hallway that are going to be floor tiled.
There is an existing hallway that has black and white mosaic tiles that I'm going to polish up. I've taken some space from the kitchen to add a downstairs WC under the stairs. Outside this is a new hallway with a door to the kitchen.
My thoughts are that it would be better to identify the spaces using different floor tiles as opposed to using the same tile and having the spaces blending into each other.
What are your thought? I know it's a matter of personal opinion but it would be nice to know if anybody shares my thoughts?

Re: Meeting of different spaces and floor tiling
Might be better to keep the hallway as one floor. Khazi and kitchen don't really matter as they have doors.
just down to personal preference really and obviously what looks good on paper in here might look pants at yours.
Just done well over a crate of travertine as one floor..............hallway, kitchen and shower room and it looks seemless and very nice.
Well as nice as pi55ed up Latvians get it looking, but thats another story.

If you've got thesholds then personally id tile the different areas, differently and carry the mosaic throughout the hallway.
I've come across a couple of victorian properties recently that have the original tiles hallway right up to the kitchen door and polished up they look fantastic!!!

Re: Meeting of different spaces and floor tiling
Thanks for the replies. I think a big open space lends itself well to having the same flooring but this house isn't so big, a typical mid terrace. I'm trying to get the house to feel that there is defined space.
I'll post pics up once it's done. (Still some way to go though).
