Hi Guys,
Following a late-night burst pipe and expensive emergency plumber, I'm now left with a hole in my bathroom as below. Anyone have any good ideas how I can patch up the hole in the plasterboard so I can replace the tiles over it?

Would have been nicer if the plumber accessed the pipe work from the other room which would have been easier to repair

Or is it an outside wall??

Surely not too difficult? cut two or three pieces of plaserboard and drill a hole in the middle of each... tie a piece of string (Reaonable strength) through each so that the knot behind wont pull through the hole... then slide each piece behind the existing hole, one side, across, then other side across, and up under..then fix it to the back of the existing wall with gripfill, pulling on the string to pull the new piece forwards to fully grip the back of the existing... repeat with next strip and so on until hole is filled to overlap down under as well... when dry, cut strings away, then fill to current PB level, then tile on top?

It's an internal stud wall.. not sure if going round the other side would have been better or not as I'd still have to patch up a hole in the landing (though repaint rather than retile.. luckily these tiles are cheapy cheap
