Schindler construction
Just seen a cheap house for sale, cash only, but is listed as being of 'schindler construction'. Obviously there is a problem with this but I can't seem to find any info about it. Can anybody tell me more? Cheers.

seems its a prefab and is considered unsound (from a search on google)
I wouldnt touch it, you certainly wont be able to mortgage it, or probably insure it

I believe its very similar to Laing easy and Bryant frame.
Steelwork frame, concrete sections dropped in and bolted together.....
A bit like a sectional concrete garage with a smaller door.
99.9% certain to be a former council house.
Construction seems to be heading back toward some of these methods lately, but i thing its been rescearched and looked at for it to be long term methods this time around.

I remember way back in the early 50's when I was about 7 or 8 years old (ok, so I'm an old codger) seeing these houses being built. The Germans had kicked the *hit out of a lot of buildings in my home town during WW2, so there was a housing shortage. I watched some of these houses being built, and even at my tender years, I was impressed at the speed of construction!

i thought it was funny reading on the link where the lady said "shame it was a nice house"
well that will be be because they have a sub standard house going cheap in comparason to a standard built house but still over priced
you dont get a bargain in a boyant market unless someone is desperate or has made a monumental mistake

Treat everyone like they are a rich distant relative, in whose will you'd like to be remembered.
