using round edge worktop as end panel

Post by billyboy1967 »

hello guys i am just about to reface kitchen units and change worktops etc,we are doing it on the cheap and my mrs has picked ikea worktops which will do fine but the problem is i was going to use worktop as end panel to create a "wraparound" look to the units but we have a potential problem as the worktops are rounded edge as opposed to striaght edge,it means when the two edges come together in a 90 degree angle it will not look right due to round edge.?? i can bite the bullet and buy square edge but they are 4/5 times the price

One way to do it , is to cut about 20mm off the back of the upright bit so it's set back underneath the worktop, and allow the worktop to float over this,. Just like normal. I did this in the ex wifes kitchen where the washing machine was (after sealing the bottom and back edges though)
