External Lighting under soffits

Post by Jaeger_S2k »

Hi,
Would like to put some lighting under the soffits. They wouldn't suffer direct weather/weathering but will be exposed to the outside.

Recommendations?

12v?

Any precautions or things to be aware of.

I'd get led ones to be honest and then you do not have to worry about changing the lamps when they go!

12v would be my choice.

I just fitted an extractor fan and vented it out of the soffit, be careful when drilling the holes with a hole saw as they can grab and if you are working at heights it is not a good idea. A scaffold tower is recommended rather than a ladder. I just leant out of the bathroom window!

Are you thinking of something like this?

Haven't seen these in operation except in my head light, which is great for working under, white and never runs out.

Have found a new wholesaler who seams reasonable will call in and see what they've got.
