Safeguard your location, no geotagging

Users of modern digital cameras, including those built into phones and GPS devices, may not be aware that the location where images are taken is included in the EXIF file incorporated in the image. As well as the, ahem, "bedroom" images, you could be revealing where your precious objects are located. The solution, edit the file before you upload to a public file host server.

Sound warning Mooncat - did you also know that a thumbnail of the image can be stored within exif too?

Like....errr.....'bedroom' pictures with faces cropped off? Well, if the EXIF hasn't been scrubbed, you can open it and see who it is! It works both ways, obviously!

The instructions they give there for Windows are relevant only for Vista and Windows 7. Windows XP users can use this free exif cleaner.
