Hello all i would like some advice on tiling my bathroom floor as i have never done floor tiling.
The floor is a little uneven and is concrete and i want to know what to do for the best.

1 hoover the floor
2 prime with F Ball floor primer
3 pour self leveling compound
4 wait to dry
5 prime floor with Bal SBR following instructions
6 mark out center of floor.
7 dry lay the full tiles from center point to see which set out look the best and acheives equal cuts to the walls
8 use Bal flexi adhesive (in a bag mix yourself)
9 use a 1/2 inch floor trowel to lay the adhesive (dont spread more than you will be able to cover)
10 lay tiles using spacers
11 leave all full tiles to dry (make sure you remove excess adhesive from sides of tiles)
12 measure and cut the margins the lay as above!







13 crack a can and admire your handy work (after youve grouted!)

You dont have to prime the floor, you can just hoover it, run a wet broom over it then pour the latex.

You dont even have to use a wet broom, but will stop it from drying to quickly.

Mapei Latexplan trade is a very good screed and will be walkable in 2 hours then you can lay your tiles after 12 hours.

Depends on how uneven it is as some self levelers will only go so deep (Check data sheets) If it is quite bad then I'd recommend Mapei Fibreplan

Deep holes should be filled first with a product like ardex a45 or mapei nivorapid. Latex screed gives best results at 3mm thick. Although they can be applied up to 6mm.

your setting out point priority is the doorway and also the cuts to the walls, ie centre the doorway, and set out with equal cuts, and then check the cuts to the wall.
If you level the floor, an 8mm trowel should be adequate, if not level 10mm trowel
when you grout, leave the grout 20-30 mins depending on humidity, before you wash off, so as not to recess the grout lines.
