Partition Wall

Post by 3-dee »

Hi there.

I am about to put up a partition wall to make a temp bedroom.
Basically I have all the stuff I need but require a little advice on fixing the floor timber to the floor.

I have laminate flooring, and would prefer not to drill or nail in to the floor,
as the wall will be temporary. Would there be any kind of adhesive I could use? Or does it have to be fixed by nail or screw?

Any help would be brilliant!
cheers

Hi Matt,

How big roughly is the partition?

Can you fasten it to the walls and ceiling?

hi,

Yeah I have an overhead timber already in place, so that takes care
of the ceiling beam. The walls I am also trying to avoid but I guess its not as bad as putting holes in the floor.

The length of the partition would be around 3 and a half metres.

Some silicone will hold it on the floor if it's only temporary, but just be patient when you clean it up after you take it all down again, and don't use anything metalic to remove the residue!

Make sure that all the studs are a tight fit as well and this will help to hold it in place.
