Hello folks
I am going to replace some worktops next week, and looking for some tips & suggestions on how to go about choosing the best value for money laminate worktop?.
Whats the diffrence between a £55 laminate worktop in B&Q compared with a more exspensive one in magnets or howdens.
Ideally it would be a worktop that didnt have to be ordered, but if it turns out that the best value for money has to be ordered then willing to wait.
thanks inadvance
Vince

hi vince. i would suggest that there isnt much difference in quality between bnq and howdens.
i wiould say magnets are better though.
the best worktops have a little drip groove where the laminate meets the underside/front. this drip grove is also sealed. but you pay 3 or 4 times more for them.

i like axiom (formica) ones
I get them from my local timber yard, theres a huge range of colours styles, they come in 4.1m lengths and are a resonable price too

Howdens was the only bit of MFI group that was making money. Howdens went its own way and left MFI as the retail shops which was just about bust and bought by a private equity group....I'll get my coat

I recall they're all part of the Nobia Group. Or owned, financed or organized by them. Nobia even owns Poggen Pohl, Gower, Hygena etc etc etc. They have a firm grip on most of the manufacture and supply of kitchens in the uk. A great deal of suppliers either guy from them or are in some way part of them!! Big Brother of the Kitchen world???
