Ryobi One+ Wet&Dry Vac - Useless or just me?

Went for the One+ kit in the end after browsng around here and soliciting advice and ended up with a fair amount of it now - both Tools and Garden Kit.

Anyway, one item I got was the TuffSucker Wet&Dry Vacuum - and so far my experience of it is that it is total sh!te, to put it bluntly.

It struggles to pick up anything and sometimes won't even hold on to a piece of paper

Now I have checked the filter and made sure that is not blocked up, made sure the battery is fully charged and makes no difference to it's performance. Every few days I try it again and get disappointed :cb

Is this a good little vac and I happen to have a duff one, or is there something I am supposed to have to do to make it work?

Anyone with one of these babys that could tell me how well it holds onto a peice of paper, for example (on this paper 'test', it will lift the piece of paper but if I move the vac more then about 1 mph, the paper just falls off)

I do not know whether to just send the thing back for a swap or a refund or what.

just noticed this thread because it keeps logging me out so went for the unanswerd

my one works well [probably the same as yours]

you should'nt expect to much its more a clean up little mess and spills

rather than replicate you hoovers performance

if you use the right attachment it can improve performance

i easily lifted a 64 page screwfix flyer with mine [no attachments]

it has also picked up the worst of a half cup of spilt home made hot chillie oil no probs :thumbright:

Thanks for reply - I will try a 64 page test on the new one. I sent the other one back to Amazon and got a replacement which have not tried

I wonder if because one of the first things I used it for was trying to clean up brick dust the filter got clogged? tapped it clean but maybe not enough?

Couldn't find a 64 Page 1/2 sheet flyer to try, but it picked up a 288 page 1/4 sheet Communion Mass Book (as approved by the Bishop of New Zealand  ) so it seems that the new one is an improvement on the old one
