My tiling project...

I just wanted to swing by for a small bit of advice on my tiling project.

With the help of the video tutorials, I recently completed a kitchen splashback. Last weekend I successfully completed several rows of white gloss tiles, left to dry from Saturday to Sunday and re-grouted on the Sunday afternoon (all looks well and neat)

Yesterday I wandered down to B&Q to purchase a dozen border tiles but came away 3 short (I have no idea how I managed this) three quarters of the border completed nonetheless.

Today I obtained the 3 tiles to finish off the border and re-grouted the work I did yesterday. I now have 3 tiles left that are to be re-grouted.

My question is, having finished placing the tiles on the wall at 12:30pm today, will I be safe to re-grout late this afternoon or must I wait the full 24 hours before re-grouting?

And what are the consequences of re-grouting too early?

I know I sound lazy but it looks quit unsightly at the moment and I've got a very long week of work ahead ad wanted to knock this job on the head.

I've read all sorts of articles on tiling but I seem to get conflicting information left right and centre as to how long I should wait to re-grout and when it's safe to do so. I always trust the advice given at UH so that's why I'm here.

The grout I've used is a standard B&Q grout and tile adhesive if this helps. Oh, and the border tiles measure 200 x 45mm so there quite light and small.

Thanks in advance :thumbleft:

couple of things....

serating up the way....(leaving your ribs up the wall, first 3min)..not good practise...if the spacing isn't cleaned out properly, you will not have much room for the grout, and also you could have lumps/bumps off adhesive showing through the grout...seen this a good few times over the years..

2nd......

uniBOMB adhesive... ::b ....come on Boss... :B

will have a look through the rest when have some time....
