Offset gas hob from under housed oven

I am installing new worktops in my kitchen but I need to offset my hob cut-out from my oven by about 40-50mm due to an FCU located above. With the gas hob directly above the oven the FCU is roughly 160mm above it and slightly to the left. I don't really want to move the FCU which is for the hob ignition as there is limited space around it. Does it make sense to offset the hob? Has anyone seen this done before? and does it look good or bad.

Cheers

Hi DJM,

By FCU, I presume you mean fused spur? I would always sit the hob over the oven, cheaper to move the spur (presumably it's tiled?) than get fed up with looking at a wonky hob over oven and having to replace the worktop?

As both above say...It'll look awful otherwise!

What wall units have you got near? By moving 40-50mm to the side you may well be causing other problems. It will also look quite odd.

Get the switch moved :salute:

I decided to move the switch. I haven't tiled yet so it won't be too much of a problem.

Thanks Guys
