I have had an 18v Bosch cordless for about 2 years and to be honest have hardly used it for a good while as i have purchased an sds. I got it out to do a small job in the garden this morning and batteries were flat. Charged them both up for a few hours and they only lasted about 6 screws worth of use. Has anyone ever had this problem. Personally i think the batteries are goosed???

As this is really a request for information about the batteries and not a review, I have moved it to Tool Talk for a better chance of getting advice.

go through several cycles off charge and discharge with 20-30 mins in between for the charger to cool down
then report back after say 10 cycles
don't forget the charger may be faulty

is it green diy or blue pro ??

If your batteries looks like the one at the bottom and you haven't used them for over 6 months then they have degraded to much to fully charge again. Each cell in the pack must stay above 0.4 volts to take a charge and keep it's charge. If a nicd or nimh batt pack is left for over 6 months without use then the batterys chemistry stops working. There are 15 battery cells in total and if just 1 degrades below 0.4 volts the whole pack is dead and you will need new batterys.

Big-Al its the green one that matches the drill itself. I will try what you said.

Will be gutted if both batteries are u/s as i am guessing the batteries are not cheap which theoretically means i may as well get a new drill....

Thanks and i will let you know how i got on
