Hi gents

Would like to have a built in / recessed mirrored cabinet in the new bathroom.

Ideal time whilst the walls are all off!

Pretty sure I can.. but can I use a normal mirrored cabinet and build it in to a frame?

specific mirrored cabinets are extortionate!

(not sure why I put in tiling forum.. just felt... right! )

dont see why not just build a frame for it into the studwork?

You can but you have to be careful how you finish around a standard cabinet. Cabinets designed to be flush fit have different hinges and are set differently.

If you can find a standard mirrored cabinet where the edges of the mirror overhang the sides of the cabinet then you are already half way there.

what about a slider? http://www.wickes.co.uk/sliding-mirror- ... vt/207261/
wonder if 2 would make a sliding mirror that opened like this <------>

i'd mask and spray a small frosted strip along the bottom for opening and closing though :-)
