Looking for a 'magic' bench

Post by Slugster »

I'm guessing the answer will be 'dream on' but...

Are there any benches available that allow you to clamp on your circular saws or routers to turn them into 'table top' tools with guides etc?

I've lost count of the near misses I've had trying to cut of 1/2" from a plank by running the saw along it. It would be so much easier to run the wood past the tool if you know what I mean.

Cheers

often the easiest way is to to temporeraly screw a 2x1 or2" batton onto the bottom of the plank and tighten that in the jaws of your workmate

i have actualy got the wolf 1000 as my 1/2" router table you can use a jigsaw drill circsaw on it as well but never bothered

would assume so

its well built but you cant attach more than 1 thing at a time as they would hamper each other

i have actualy affixed a 18mm bit off mdf to the top as the metal plate the tools affix to allowed a bit of vibration/movement

As long as it will let me bolt my Makita circular saw to it and set a guide to a width and then push timber through it, I will be one happy bunny...

you get little metal brackets with wingnuts and slots for adjustment
you also get a clip that will hold the trigger in the on position

the clamp on fence is extra and needs a bit of folded sandpaper to grip the frame :thumbright:

yes its fine as i said before you get a bit of play in the stamped metal base so as you tighten the clamps it can drop around a mm or so
this can effect the first and last foot of work when routing as it drops the dip
