new twin base router

Post by big-all »

lovely bit off kit well built smooth in operation
http://www.axminster.co.uk/dewalt-d2620 ... rod847127/
its great use it 2 handed with the router base or one handed with the second base i love it
plunge with the router base is great its a spring and friction system move nothing it automaticly holds press against spring pressure to plunge or lift
in normal use its so simple if you require to lock firm you flick the lever a bit further and it locks solid

its the usual spanner and button to remove the cutter
the turret is great its set in realistic steps off around 4mm to match the shanks 1/4 inch [6.35mm] so close to the 3.175 1/2 shaft max plunge guide
you get both a fence for the plunge base and a separate screw on jig/guide for the trimmer base

you also get a kit box and a brilliant holdall the kit box is blow moulded so not so good if you want it give me a shout its very cheap
one niggle the off on switch is well protected behind a neoprene type cover and because its a small movement it makes the switch a bit more proned to sloppy operation with not properly throwing so requiring a few seconds wait before assuming its on or off

one other point its made in mexico
up to now thats what has seperated us an eu production as in eu produced in europe and us in in us north and south perhaps warentees will now be universal ??
