Replace the back of kitchen unit without removing worktop

Hi Guys
I hope you can help me with this problem. I've just moved into a property & in the kitchen the back of the 2 bottom kitchen cupboards are bowing outwards leaving a gap between the cupboard & the back board, I know the kitchen probably had damp & that's what has caused this but as the property is rented I don't want to spend a fortune on damp proofing etc, the kitchen is a bodge job anyway, looks like it's been put in by a cowboy or by a DIYer, just thought I would ask if you had any ideas for a quick fix to either re-attach the backboard to the cupboard or if there is a way to replace it without removing the worktop & before people say ask the landlord to do it I am just trying to explore all possibilities first as I have a feeling it will be another hack job to fix it & ibwould rather try something myself first
Any advice will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
