Recording can select frequency?
Hi,
I have successfully recorded my voice by computer + Sound Recorder+ microphone .
However, I fail to record noise from the pipes in my flat even though the noise was more aloud than my voice and I put the microphone very close to the pipe.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Recording can select frequency?
In that case it's obvious that the noise isn't audible to anyone or anything else.

I wouldn't get too obsessed about the noises from the pipes.
Unless they are saying BURN, KILL, DESTROY etc

Re: Recording can select frequency?
is the noise in the pipes or is it actually some other central location? its not a neighbours washing machine or dryer rattling them?

Re: Recording can select frequency?
Knew it wouldn't pick the noise up, not to be a smug b*stard or anything.
Another option would maybe be to film it using a video camera and extract the noise from the recording, the microphones are better at picking up stuff other than speech. Might take some trial and error with the timings etc. Just something else to try.

Re: Recording can select frequency?
That microphone can only pick sound very close to it. I set it very close to the pipes but cannot record anything.....means the noise is not from the pipes? My ears told me the noise is from the pipes....What I can do???
