Now I use Rubi tile cutters or tile cutter to be precise and as it happens, do like it.

Thing is for another cutter, do I want the Sigma 3 series, Rubi TX-N or a Rubi TI-T.

Sigma 3cm 750 cutter is looking top fave as I can get this for under £300 at the moment. Although spares for Rubi are a piece of piddle to pick up virtually anywhere.

Be good to know what the pro tilers think?

yes the fact that Topps now do the range as well as my usual Nichols and Clarke means I can get bits very easy for the Rubi. Plus the UK HQ are down the road from me. That was what was going to sway it for me to stick with Rubi.

Just TX-N or the TI-T. Hopefully the HQ do demos to help me make up my mind.

sigma for me...better track record imo...as for easyily availble spares/scribes.....lol... ya only need to buy a cutting wheel for the sigs..... every 2 years or so..well depends what your fixing etc...and you can throw the sigmas about no probs(no bits to fall off etc)...


SIGMA v rubi.......only one winner there ...

p.s. m3 fitter have you seen the new rubi they have brought out....looks so much like a sigma..

got talking to the rubi rep in CTD during the summer...had a wee shot off it and it was nice,till i went to my van and got out the big sigma,only differance from them was the rubi had a longer exstension arm,he even said it was based on the sigma,because a lot off fixer have moved over to sigs...

maybe i'm just 'ol school us humans don't like change

Royal try the Hq (rubi) i brought from them years back and it was cheaper than elsewhere, although they did say at the time they dont normally sell direct.

Got the Sigma in the end.

Well I was meant to be doing 600x300 porcelain with it (my rubi is the ts 50 plus), but I discovered they were a faulty batch and time ticks on so one of our tilers is now doing the job as I had to start another bathroom refurb.

I did lay the floor though which were porcelain, not many cuts and found it very good. The tiles were 10mm thick and I managed to cut a couple of 10mm strips, out of curiosity, and that is something I couldn't do with the Rubi.

I am starting to tile one of my bathrooms tomorrow and will use the sigma and report back, next week.

the sigma will eat through porkies with ease....and will cut you 10mm strips all day no probs...


maybe m3 should try one out ....eh m3...

Don't know about buying the TX in the first place instead of the TS......I didn't know about those things then.

Twas a toss up between the TX-N and the Sigma for the latest one and extremely overjoyed that I bought the Sigma.

I'm also thinking of a new cutter. Not want to spend as much as ROC so max budget is £200.

Looking at either Sigma 2D3 TECNICA or Rubi TI-S-66 - want to be able to cut 60cm max.

Any recommendations?
